I have had this drive in the drawer for a year or so and cannot figure out how to access it. It's plugged into the USB adapter
and it has a key so it is in the only way it can go. My Windows 11 laptop sees it in disk management but all I can do is change the drive letter. I downloaded an app from WD that is suppose to see it so I can open it but that failed also. I could open my laptop and put it in a slot, but that may not even work and I would rather not do that. Any suggestions?

At this point, the only option I can suggest, IMHOI, is to see if your laptop or a desktop has an available M.2 slot and see if the drive works in said slot.

I downloaded an app from WD that is suppose to see it so I can open it but that failed also.
Please elaborate.

1)Shows in Disk Management?
A) Use Diskpart and format, clean the drive. Then re-slot it in and see if it gets recognised.
(OR)
Once change the drive letter and see if drive gets recognised.
2) Download Paragon Partition Manager and format the drive.
EDIT:
Once show the disk management screenshot.

It's a USB adapter made for this kind of drive. Like I said it has been in a drawer for a long time. I can try a different adapter if it's not too expensive. Here is a screen shot of the Disk Management. It's the device at the bottom, G. It says "No Media" so it knows it's plugged in but cannot read it.

I bought a MAIWO SSD enclosure from Amazon, plugged it in and the drive popped right up. That USB adapter was crap apparently. It was a backup drive in a computer I had 3 years ago. Thanks for all the help guys.
