Western Digital Sucks, their quality has gone done the tubes years ago. I have more WD HDD's fail after 3 year warranty is up. I will never buy Western Digital anything no matter how cheap! This article is a wast of virtual ink, in my opinion.

i disagree with neon871, every time i try another brand (like seagate or fujitsu) i regret it. anyway i wonder if this finally means we get 3TB drives that dont require external USB power. and will they work on USB 2.0 ports as well? or only self powered on 3.0?

There is, in the forums.
The 4 platter 2.5" drives, according to specs, seem to not overdo the power limitations of USB2 so it'll probably work fine on USB2. But this is what, 5 platters, 600GB/platter? I'd still assume it'll work in USB2
