Westinghouse monitor not working for dual display?

I have a dell monitor that I've been using on it's own for the past couple of years with my desktop. I've recently bought a westinghouse monitor and would like to run both off the DVI-D ports on my graphics card but when i boot with both monitors plugged in, there is no signal going to the westinghouse monitor. I've tried booting in safe mode and that results in no image on either monitor. What to do??

Have you tried pressing the input button on the monitor to tell it to get its input from the DVI port? I forget to do that all the time.

Have you double checked that all the cables are working correctly? Have you tried using the 'westinghouse' monitor by itself, to verify that it works correctly?
