The Campaign was straight out of The General's Compendium, Border Princes.
My Orc&Goblins started at the bottom of the map wedged between Wood Elves on
my right (Empire to the right of him in the lower right corner) and Chaos
Beasts on my left (in the lower left corner). (There were about 10 players
in the game so we were packed rather tightly around the edges of the map:
one in each corner, one on each left/right side and two on the bottom/top
sides - I think.)
First turn the Empire and the Woodies become official allies as the Beasts
and I do the same thing. The Beasts and the Empire head north (to harass
the second O&G player and the Dark Elf player respectively.) The Woodies
and I declare our mutual desire to wipe the other off the map.
At this point, Myr creates and sends banners for my army that directly taunt
and belittle the Wood Elves. (Thanks Myr they were/are wonderful!!)
I will not go into detail except to say that on the map, I outmaneuver the
Woodies while in the battles themselves I can't seem to do more than block
his advance. However, I do manage to take territory toward Malko (north
center) while boxing the Woodies so he cannot expand.
As I continue to lose/stand-off battle after battle with those annoying
Elves, the Beasts are doing great - not having to worry about the flank I'm
on, the Woodies are getting frustrated at lack of gaining territory and the
Empire fell to the other O&G player. The Dark Elves fell to the Beasts.
And I heard vague rumors about some army way up north going out.
I call in the Wood Elf expertise of fog, who finally relents and tells me
how to beat the pointy-eared ones.
OKAY! Now I'm two turns away from Woodie genocide. The WE player is
talking bargains. I'm standing by my loyalty to the beasts ...
....who call off the alliance and attack my HQ.
I decided vengence is better than taking out the Woodies and give all I have
to make my death at the hands of the traitor-beasts as long, slow and
annoying as possible.
The campaign is over for me. About half of the others are fighting it out.
It looks like the traitor-beasts will win in the end. I hear that the other
O&G player took out the Woodies for me. But I'm content here in orcy
heaven.
