[SOLVED] WFH Display Configuration

Hi,
Due to the coronavirus I'm now mandated to work remotely.
I have two monitors with current desktop setup. I also have laptop with dock station.
How can I make it so one of the monitors from my desktop setting also works with dock station during day time and nigh time use original configuration.
I brought a vga 2 port switch and not working as planned.
I know my way around pc but so far I cant make it work.
Can someone please provide guidance.

If the monitor has 2(or more) inputs have the desktop plugged into one input and the laptop in another then just use the OSD(or buttons) to change the input on the monitor to switch between them.

Thank you, I just needed to have an outside perspective. This makes perfect sense. Appreciate you taking the time to respond, it was so simple how you explained it!
