Despite poor transmisson rates my wg311t in a win98se box works
with latest driver from netgear.com.

If I try to switch on wpa-psk encryption an error message appears:
"The supplicant software is not installed correctly. run install
again... "

After uninstalling netgear SW and drivers, Removing the software,
and reinstalling the wg311t, the very same error appears again when
activating wpa-psk. :(

Any solution to this problem known out there?

Anyone running wg311t with wpa-psk under win98se?

After checking around some more hours - I found a solution:

for some unknown reason the package wg311t_sw300.exe
did not correclty install the MDC AEGIS Client/802.1x protocol
on my win98se box.
parts of it where there (like the mdc8021x.inf file and some registry
entries) ohters where missing.
e.g. the file mdc8021x.vdx is winhome\system for a moment, but after
driver install reboot it has disappeared again, only the inf file
persists.
e.g. in Network ADD-Protocol, MDC 802.1x is listed, but doesn't
install without orig. mdc aegis install CD.

by trial and error i found
netgearinstalldir\wg311tsu\UTILITY\AGISI2.exe
which erronelousy says the 802.1x protocol would be installed
correctly.

after hitting the button "install" in AGISI2.exe
it's just done, and wpa-psk is working for the wg311t. :)

it sounds easy now, but was a nightmare to figure out!

Netgear telephone support in germany couldn't help me on this and is
barly reachable, nor did I find one single document on netgear.com
describing the usage of aegisi2 tool.
