I'm thinking about replacing my 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green as it's been acting up too much for my liking, a lot of times it's made my computer refuse to even load before physically disconnecting it, and I just had a scare where it wouldn't write to the disk and chkdsk, although correcting errors, did say it had a small amount of bad sectors.

So I've come here for suggestions for a good reliable drive, I don't think I want to go with WD again, are there other good companies making high capacity HDDs right now?

I like the Seagate SSHDs .... the 7200 rpm ones.....hybrid SSD / HD comes in handy. I find they boot about 1 second slower than SSDs. The seagate Barracudas are 30% faster than the WD Blacks but these are even faster

well theres nothing wrong with wd , the failure rate on hd's run about the same I've had them last forever and had them fail but if you wanted to go with another brand then for me I guess Seagate. but I like wd and I use there black drives but I feel if I had to get another brand I figure Seagate would be the one ... but that's just me... good luck.

if you want your drives to last then dont have them posted out to you. buy from a local supplier and pick it up yourself.
most drives fail not because of user error but poor transportation via 3rd party delivery services like the royal mail/dhl.
no kidding every dive i have had posted out to me died within 6 months, every 1 i picked up directly is still going and some are 4-5 years old now.
