What 7th gen CPU should i get?

Hi,

Im going to build a gaming pc for my friend and it consists of:

RAM: Corsair 16GB (8x2) 2400HMz
GPU: GTX 970 Gainward phantom 4GB

So i was thinking of getting the i5 7500 3.4GHz but im not sure if its good enough for RPG, openworld games such as; Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Skyrim or latest FPS games.

If the i5 7500 isnt good enough for those games then i was planning to change it to i5 7600k 3.8GHz, would this CPU be better for those type of games?

So should i keep it as the i5 7500 or i5 7600k?

For those open-world games the i5-7600k would be giving you a nice boost in performance.

Only get the 7600k if you can afford the beefier cooler necessary to run, a Z270 motherboard, and are willing to attempt overclocking. Otherwise you're spending more on few benefits from a 7500.

The i5 7500 is perfect for any gaming only get the 7600k if you plan to overclock but the 7500 is plenty for any gaming

id get the 7600k, cause why not? as long as youve got the budget for a z270 board and a cryorig h7, its a solid choice with a 970. if you already have an 1151 board though and cant oc, id go with a locked i7

You a Non-Overclock user - Then go for Intel i5 7500 (or Intel i5 7600) with H270 Motherboard or B250
