I have a Samsung Series 5 Ultrabook and it uses a HDD.

I want to know what advantages changing the HDD to an SDD. I know it will make boot up speeds faster and opening apss faster but will it help me in browsing since sometimes its a bit slow and also changing tabs. I'm thinking of getting a 240 Gb Crucial BX200 SSD but i'm not sure if it will be worth it.

My laptop has an Intel i5 and 8 Gb RAM.

Thanks a bunch :)

Changing the O/S drive to an SSD is probably the most useful upgrade you can do. Everything is faster, so you feel the benefit whether you are browsing, gaming, working etc.

That said, your browser issue might be further improved by other things - do you have many addons installed for example?

I have no ad ons whatsoever. I just refreshed my laptop a couple weeks ago so its still quite empty. The only thing i do with it is just browse the web mostly.

Another thing that you will receive is the hard drive won' t suffer of high movement problem, hdd are very sensitive to any bad move or g force or g shock used it, with sdd you don't have this problem. Well you can watch in youtube the video when put two laptop on a paint shaker, the one with sdd still function well the other one... watch the video.

You will have all advantages with SSD, and only two disadvantages: maybe little less space and higher price. But when you compare price with performance you have, you'll ignore price.

...because I always put my laptop on a paint shaker.

I get the point, but what an irrelevant test.

Grab a 256GB SSD, you won't look back and you'll notice the increase for sure. It's a cheap yet powerful upgrade.

Thanks for the answer guys! I've decided to get an SSD on my laptop. Having moved from a Hard Drive to an SDD on my desktop is one of the best decisions i have made but i was just not sure if it would be as big of a difference than to a desktop.
