What antivirus would fit my needs?

OK, so soon (hopefully) I'm going to build an own gaming computer and I wonder which antivirus should I choose. It should be efficient, but it shouldn't slow down the system too much or disturb with many messages and updates. I mean, one update per week is OK, but one update per day is too much in my opinion, though I understand it's needed.

The main task would be gaming, so it shouldn't disturb with messages (or call them alerts, information, updates...) too much.

I thought about Kaspersky Pure 3.0, any idea? Pure 3.0 is the best AV from Kaspersky, better than the Basic and Advanced Protection, right?

Greetings!

Editing: I forgot to say it, but I only need one copy (for one computer, not two or three).

Oh well, forgot to say that I'm willing to pay for it of course. Yes, Avast Free looks well, but how about avast Premier or Internet Security, is it a huge difference from the Free avast version?

I might be wrong, but it looks more logical that a paid AV is better than a free AV, isn't it like that? For example, what's better, avast Premier, Kaspersky Pure 3.0 or the Free Avast Version?

The difference? The paid version comes with a firewall and full customer support, of course. I personally use the Comodo Dragon firewall paired with Avast! free antivirus. Or you could just use the firewall that comes with windows.

Windows' firewall isn't as efficient as others, is it? I might try avast, free or paid, but between paid... Is it worth paying more (something between €10 and €20) for the Premier, rather than using the Internet Security one?
