What are my options?

Looking to help my friend out upgrade his system somewhat.

Thing is, its a prebuilt (HP Pavilion p6-2260ea)
i3 2120
300w psu
Joshua-H61-uATX motherboard

In terms of GPU what are my options? Is the mobo too old to support current gen?

I'd probably put a low profile GTX 1050 2gb in it for a budget gaming system.

thats exactly what i was thinking to be honest.. it seems like rx 560 would be too much for the psu?

However would the 1050 be compatible with the motherboard... something about bios and uefi

It should work fine with that motherboard, if there is a issue then just update the BIOS through the manufacturers website (HP).
