If I recall correctly, the North Bridge handles the on-board graphics and LAN chips. The South Bridge handles the on-board audio chip.

NB handled RAM and video, while SB did everything else. Now replaced because the NB is on the CPU now.

No. NB handles GPU/IGP. And ram. Everything else runs through the SB.
