i have a msi gtx 980 Ti (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V4R42298) and my friend says it will overheat and burst into flames at 84 degrees celsius and that 27 celsius is the highest safe operating temperature on computers
I have a EVGA 980 ti SC and it runs at ~80C under full load, which I'm ok with. I'd say under 85 is fine, anything above that would worry me but GPU boost 2.0 should throttle your card a tiny bit to keep it at 80-82 if it's working properly
haha what? no thats false. The reference models are DESIGNED to run at 82'ish. A typical GOOD temp for a gpu is in the 70's or low 80's and a cpu is generally 70c or below. The cooler the better though but no 27c is a idle temp not a gaming or even web browsing temp.
