Hello, I have an old broken laptop with working components including its i7 3612QM socketable CPU, 8gb ram and a 1TB hard drive.
I want to buy a low end used laptop for cheap and put my conponents in them. I initially wanted to get a thinkpad t420/t430 but those are very expensive in my region. So what are some very common old office laptops with the G2 socket? like from HP, Dell, lenovo etc. Thank you.

Where would this region be?

IMHO, in 2025 and moving forward you're not actually going to be able to make much progress by recycling those components. Windows 10 is running aground with support from Microsoft and you won't be able to get much done with merely 8GB's of ram.

Either leave the laptop as is or sell the recycled components for some pocket money, save up and invest in something concurrent. Retain the HDD is it's got mission critical data.

If you're yet adamant in dropping resources on this, then look for laptops with these processors;

and if you find a good deal on them, get it(though I highly doubt you'll find something in good condition 13 years since it's release).

My 2 cents.

i do plan to resell the upgraded laptop, it would probably be somewhat more profitable than trying to sell the broken laptop as is.

Bangladesh. Old laptops with i7s can still go for ~$100. The thinkpads are even more expensive, anywhere from $100-$200. But no one wants to pay much for broken hardware. And trying to sell the components seperately would probably take too long. This is why I'm looking for a hp or dell laptop to upgrade to.
