Hi all,

I've been looking around the web for some comparison numbers as to how
far the 5900XT will overclock. In particular, the Leadtek A350 with
2.2ns memory (what I have).

thanks in advance......

If your card actually has Hynix 2.2ns memory (AF-22 designation on
memory chips) it is rated for a max clock speed of 900MHz (450 doubled).
Overclocking the memory to that level would not even be running it out
of spec.

The GPU can be overclocked to at least 400MHz (standard FX5900 speeds)
and probably more.

I run my Leadtek FX5900XT very conservatively at 400/700. The Hynix
memory on my card is only 2.8ns (AF-28).

Check the FX5900XT reviews on firingsquad.com. They were overclocking
the Leadtek card to some pretty high numbers.

it definitely has the 2.2 (af-22), I was fortunate to find one.

I'm not surprised at the memory speed, but 491MHz for the GPU is pretty
good. When I use auto-detect on my Leadtek FX5900XT (56.72 reference
drivers) it comes back 422/766. It looks like you got lucky with your
card. I was a little disappointed that mine didn't have the faster
memory, but performance-wise it's been a nice improvement over the GF4
Ti4200 it replaced.

I wouldn't put too much faith in the auto-detect as far as those numbers
being the max. I have seen the numbers vary from time to time. Last nite I
hit auto-detect and it was 538/1.08
Yes it locked up shortly after starting 3Dmark lol...My card is a flashed
5900 btw and I've never changed the 53.03 drivers.

How can you loosening timings manually ?
Doesn´t the flash give you ( unfort.) larger memory timings?

Tighter memory timings ???
Sure?

You can loosen the timings manually if you know asm/binary... which I
unfortunately don't know.

The memory timings on the 5950 are slightly tighter... possibly .5ns.

Depends on the card though.

But like overclocking system memory, lowering the timings won't
necessarily lock the system.

This card has no Ram Heat Sinks so its a BIG NO..
