What are the Best SSD's and HDD's?

I'm going to get one HDD and one SSD, and my system will be solely for gaming, so are there any SSD's and HDD's recommended above others, or are they all pretty much the same?

SSD - Crucial MX100 o Samsung 850 EVO. In whatever size fits your budget.

HDD - WD Blue 1TB, or WD Black in larger sizes. Or Seagate Barracuda.

What motherboard?
If your motherboard supports M.2, then get the Samsung XP941 or SM951.
These totally blitz the other SSDs.

here's the 10,000-foot view:

all SSDs are about the same
all HDDs are about the same
nearly any SSD will be 20-50 times faster than nearly any HDD in performance that matters, and 2-3 times faster in performance that doesn't matter

the rest of the differences are in minor speed performance, power states, controller brands, bundles of brackets & cloning software, etc.
