Intel 750 series offers enterprise SSD that are tweaked for consumers and enthusiasts. Intel 750 series is built upon DC P3700 but is more suitable for client applications.
DC P3700 Series is mainly for data centre purposes but can be for enthusiasts but it is expensive for individuals.
The intel 750 also aims to spread the use of NVMe SSD for consumer-grade products.
Some websites says the 750 would cater gaming enthusiast. Is this true? Is there some significant improvement over FPS etc?
No fps performance increase. That's is not what ssd are designed for. It's designed for transferring files quickly. So you would load game files quicker, load maps quicker.
It cater to "gaming enthusiast" who wants everything to load fast but for most gamers, this is overkill ,a standard SATA 3 SSD is fine for now.
The Intel 750 is more suitable for people looking for the fastest consumer SSD right now or productivity such as rendering 4K videos.
