Reviews on these seem fairly positive, but I'm wondering what people think of them who have owned them for a little while.

  1. Have you been able to upgrade them (e.g. memory, SSD, etc.) without issue?
  2. Is the bloatware tolerable/removable?
  3. Did you notice any way in which they've cut corners compared to a similarly equipped prebuilts?
  4. Any other concerns?

Re: "People"

What is your overall sense of what "people think" with respect to your four questions?

What have you decided or considered with respect to other people's potential thoughts and ideas?

Key is to show or demonstate the conclusions that you have reached and to contrast those conclusions with what other "people" have thought or said.

Fair to ask about other conclusions/concerns but you must be willing to offer up your conclusions/concerns.

Note the underlines.

Well I bought one and have had it for several days. Seems the memory issues have been sorted out and lots of people report being able to upgrade the RAM and run it at 5600 or higher (as long as you are only using slots 2+4). I added a WD Black 1TB drive without issue. Bloatware is not too bad - some of the Lenovo stuff is actually useful and the rest is easily uninstalled. The only real complaint I have the the Lenovo BIOS is a bit more locked down that if I'd built the PC from scratch. I'd like to be able to make the fans fun a little more aggressively and fan speed control does not seem to be available. But otherwise so far so good.

see if some software like SpeedFan gives any options to control them.
if not, they are likely locked at a specific RPM with no voltage control options from the board.

you can get a fan hub and use a spare 4pin PWM fan header on the board to control multiple fans.
or if no fan headers are available, you may find a USB powered hub with it's own software for RPM control.

I ordered the Legion 7i that comes with a 13900KF, RTX 4090, 32GB of RAM for $2660 with the Slickdeals coupons. It's tough to build one at that price and it uses all standard parts including a full size ATX mobo.
