Hi All,
I have noticed that there is little information on what the codes mean on the new 1151 motherboards like ASRock H110M-DGS and Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2PV.
i can understand that H can mean its the low to average motherboard with no overclocking and the M cand mean Micro ATX size board.

But the letters DGS and S2PV are all new to me, could someone please help me understand the new types, thanks.

Solution
Afraid that non of the boards i can see for either of them are very clear on what the acroynms mean
http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=1151
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/list.aspx?s=42&jid=3&p=2&v=37

Only ones I really can tell right away have things like DDR3, or are codes I haev seen before, so it does come down to comparing specs as far as I can tell
These are most likely the model / brand from the manufacturer and will not be comparable between different manufacturers, the H110 is the chipset (consumer chips H110/H170/Z170, B150/Q1XX cant remember the Q ones are business models) and yes the m is generally for matx

Also,
a suffix is probably a manufacturer specific naming scheme

I think the "SP" in that Gigabyte board stands for "Security and productivity" as it's meant as a business oriented board. In general, the suffix naming scheme just doesn't matter. Look at the motherboard site for the features, look up reviews, user feedback etc.

Things like "Gaming" in the name don't tell you much, though it may suggest a better audio solution like SupremeFX, overclocking capability etc though there's no guarantee which again is why you look at the features/specs.

Thanks guys for replying, SU11YBEAR i understand those letters and i believe B is still representing low end or business class models like the 1150 boards are.
photonboy that wiki brings me to all the info i already understand, and ive tried looking for pages with more help about there suffix and understand they can change between companies but i would love to be able to find all that information clearly insteadof everyone saying dont wworry about it for the 1151 just have a look at the boards and figure it out.

I also understand gigabyte D could easily be talking about durable like D3,D5 but since there was no numbers it has gotten me abit curious
