What are the steps to follow when changing GPU?

Hey guys,

I will be receiving my new gtx 960 and my PSU soon. Other than uninstalling old drivers before installing new gpu and get the new drivers, is there anything else to do?

thats it really


uninstall all gpu drivers, turn off


swap cards, make sure all cables are properly mounted


turn on, install newest drivers from the nvidia website



if your motherboard is older, it is also a good idea to make sure your bios is up to date

Remove the drivers, Turn off the computer, Unplug the computer, uninstall the old card, install the new card, plug in the computer, turn on the computer, install new drivers.

go to the manufacturer's website of your motherboard


they will have a update tool that does everything for you
