Yea without seeing the other side, it is hard to tell. I would bet there is probably a teardown video, somewhere on Youtube, for this laptop, that would provide answers.gpu would make sense for the circled part as the brace for the heatsink since there is a fan mounted right next to it. but that's just an educated guess![]()

I might guess that the plastic film and covers are there to prevent possible shorts with the case base if it was flexed.
Are you disassembling this laptop for some purpose?
