Question What are thse two metal squares on my laptop's motherboard???

the non circled one is the backplate for the cpu but i'm not sure what the circled one is as it is still covered.

They were glued on so I didnt want to mess with it

understandable for sure. but i appears to be another brace. would have to look at the other side of the mobo to see what it is helping to hold in place.

The first picture, if you are talking about the shiny piece, to the right, that looks to be the primary NVME drive. The circled one, I would say is maybe the back side of where the CPU sits, or the graphics chip.

gpu would make sense for the circled part as the brace for the heatsink since there is a fan mounted right next to it. but that's just an educated guess

Yea without seeing the other side, it is hard to tell. I would bet there is probably a teardown video, somewhere on Youtube, for this laptop, that would provide answers.

I might guess that the plastic film and covers are there to prevent possible shorts with the case base if it was flexed.

Are you disassembling this laptop for some purpose?

The circled part could be RF shielding for that area. Sound, or WIFI.

I was trying to add a second nvme but I couldnt find it at first. It turns out it was next to the battery so I took off all of this black film for nothing (-_-)
