[SOLVED] What build would you choose (RTX 2080 / Ryzen 3700X vs RTX 2070 / 9700K)

I'm building a gaming PC for one of my friends his budget is $1500. Originally I was going to go the RTX 2080 and Ryzen 3700X route. However, he does a lot of video editing and streaming and brought up to me that he would prefer having a i7. My question is what would be a better experience a RTX 2080 with Ryzen 3700X or RTX 2070 with 9700K?

RTX 2080 is no longer in production, and was replaced by the 2070 Super, and remains overpriced VS said replacement.

Then that one > i5-10600K + RTX 2070 Super, if you can even get hold of one. Replenishment of stock isn't going smoothly on those new 10th gens...
Or that one > i7-10700K + RTX 2070 Super

Streaming on the i7-9700K... that's, uhh... kinda lacking on the thread count there. Bad idea.
Video editing, sure. Gaming + streaming, nope.

The 3700x is the better streaming cpu.

Already have your answer, but yeah Ryzen 3700X + RTX 2070 Super (RTX 2080).

The only reason I would pick a i7 9700K for editing videos is if it was a gift.

Be sure to configure sufficient ram to hold all that is going on concurrently. That might be a 2 x 16gb ram kit.

If games are of the fast action type, spend on the graphics card before overspending on the cpu.
If in doubt about graphics, buy a evga card, planning on using the 90 day free trade up option.

Depends on the resolution. 1080p, yes but 1440p it evens out quite a bit.

The i7 10700K is indeed a really strong CPU. OP may have to work some magic to be able to to use it in the build. But yeah if its posible it will be a great CPU to get for editing but specially for gaming.

I wonder whats this "friend" of the OP using for editing and gaming right now?, cause as you worte, perhaps the Core i5 10600K could be a viable and better value option here.
