[SOLVED] what cables do I need to use with my corsair cx650m

So I just upgraded my mb and cpu but now my mb requires a 8 + 4pin cable from my psu and I dont know what cables I need to use.
My psu has additional 8pin connectors for 6+2 pci e and 4+4cpu

Psu: corsair cx650m
cpu: intel core i7 10700k
mb: AsRock z490 extreme4

The permanently attached 4+4 goes to the motherboard for the CPU. Any 6+2 cables you have are for video card only.

Just use the 8pin EPS and leave the 4 pin unused, will be fine.

No it doesn't. Unless you're doing some serious overclocking.

I really wish motherboard companies would more explicitly note this. They tend to either not mention that the extra four-pin connector is not actually required or it's buried in the motherboard manual that most people won't read in the midst of a rather long, dry list of information.
