What can be an issue with this rig?

Hi

So i just wondering if you guys could take a look at my specs and tell me what could be the major issue over here and WHAT should i do to solve it.


So i just got my little upgrade

cpu: e6600 (stock 2.4)
GPU:xfx gtx 260 black edition
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) x2
MOBO: P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce (Pcie 1.0)

My concern is that I just ran 3dmark6 and ive received only 11xxx something where I noticed that other people had much more with the lower GPU??? You think it could be because CPu bottleneck it---- should it overclock it to like 3.xxx or what you guys think???

Sure, see how an OC would do. Imo, you should have OCed that CPU long time ago!

You need to break it down to the separate SM and CPU scores. However with that said, 11K for stock dual core and a powerful GPU is normal to me.

Folks who gets better scores with lower GPUs are using either quad CPUs ,or overclocked CPUs, which will pump up the total score.

so you think that the main reason is CPU? either maximize the overclock or go with quad? i.e q9550?

Overclock what you have and see how far your score goes. Then if you haven't already, overclock you GPU a bit.

ketrab, you should be able to easily reach 3.3 GHz with a good HSF. And your graphics performance should scale up to at least 3.2 GHz.
