My desktop died yesterday died. The fans on the power worked, but monitors all black. After a while the powerfan had stopped too. I replaced power, with no luck.
I build this work-PC 2.5 years ago. I don't any upgrade of any kind, just need it running again, hopefully tomorrow.

DDR3, M.2 PCI-E, GTX 960

It would be fastest fo me If I could use any of the MB this shop have in stock (Green square means they have it in stock) https://www.komplett.no/category/10...LGA1151 Socket&cnet=Lager_A03408 §M.2-sokkel

And of those Z97 boards that DO have a dedicated m.2 port, they are generally x2. Halving the speed of the drive.
Thanks for your replies, both cin19 and you. I'll guess I have to upgrade then. Money isn't the issue, but I don't like to spend on money on things I don't need.

I have been using and building (my own) PC's for decades, but now I'm only using them.

Any suggestions for new MB and CPU (and GPU?..), where I can use the "old" M2? I'm an architect and photographer, both "ordinary" photography and astro. Huge stacks and panoramaes. Zero gaming.

You can use an NVMe drive in that board. I put one in just the other day. 1TB Intel 660p.
In an adapter in one of the PCIe slots. Just not as the boot drive.

But if you're going to rebuild, you might as well go all the way.
New mb/CPU/RAM/GPU. Probably PSU as well.
