Hello all.

I recently bought this system:

MOBO: Asus z97-pro
CPU: Core i5 4690 (Noctua nh-u9b se2 cooler)
GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC UEFI
DDR: 2 x 4gb Ballistix GT X 1600mhz
Storage: Samsung 840 Evo 250gb ; 1 Tb HDD
PSU: CoolerMaster g750m
CASE: NZXT H440 Black/Red

I then went on and replaced all the front case fans for 2 x Noctua NF-F12's (top and middle for focused airflow to cpu and gpu) and a Corsair Sp120 Performance edition at the bottom for maximum airflow, a Corsair AF140 Silent edition for rear exhaust and 2 x Corsair Sp120 silent editions for top exhaust. I run all fans (except the rear exhaust) from my mobo and adjusted the fan speeds accordingly (meaning more speed on the gpu one and the top exhausts are at 40% all the time, I then added aggressive fan curves to all intakes when temperatures get above 40º C inside case but they never do). I mounted the SSD on the shroud mounts and the HDD on the bottom of the case, i then removed all drive cages for better airflow and put one over the hdd (one tip under the lower corsair sp120 PE and the other tip on the psu shroud so the air goes upwards towards my gpu. So, overall, the system is relatively quiet and everything is running cool. After hours long gaming sessions the max temps I have seen from my CPU were 55º C and from my GPU 73/74º C and these are the maximum, in some games my CPU does not break the 50 mark and my gpu stays bellow 70.

I am quite happy with the way the system looks and performs but after all this assembly I got hooked in the process of assembling so now i just want to open my case and work on it but I got nothing to do, everything is as I planned out (i planned way ahead for this case disposition), all cables are nice and tidy. So I wanted suggestions on what else I can do/add to improve performance or anything...Should I install Asus fan Xpert so i get even more silence? Should I add any hardware? Any pimping i could do (besides adding LED's that is an easy answer)? Should I overclock my GPU? I just want a reason to open it up or tweak it lol. Even though I assemble PC's for a long time now I have never done it in an enthusiastic way, i did it for function purposes never really worrying about looks, cable management, airflow and temperatures so, in this sense, I am new to this.

Sorry for the long thread but I wanted to explain my system as best as I could and I really appreciate any tips or/and suggestions you nice people can provide me.

Thank you all, looking forward for you answers!

Your computer looks like it is running perfectly. If you want to dabble in overclocking, go for it! Nothing's stopping you 😀.

May i ask, is that bottom mounted fan exhausting or intaking? Also is your computer on carpet or is your house prone to dust?

I recently added a NZXT hue lighting lit to my pc, its awesome to see all the colour combinations and to play around with them.

You mean the bottom/front Corsair SP120 Performance Edition? It is for intake. I got 3 intakes and 3 exhausts, I imagine my pressure is neutral or it might tend slightly to positive or negative because of the fan speeds, either way i don't think it will be very significant. I got it on top of a small wooden table I bought especially for it 😀 No carpets nearby. All intakes all dust filtered and after 1 month there is no visible dust inside the case, i'll keep a close eye on it.

I can post some pictures if people are curious or feel it is useful.

I considered the led kit and i might again in the future but for now i'll leave it like it is. My mobo has some red lights on it naturally 😀 and the case can light a white/bluish light too.

Thank you!

I must have mis-read. If it is in the front panel, then thats fine. I was thinking if it it was on the bottom of the case.

Also, try to aim for positive pressure so that air naturally exits the case. This reduces dustiness as well :)

As for lighting, it is all aesthetic so if you are pleased with what you have got now, there is no reason to get more!
