I got two system:
1) P2-300MHz, Gigabyte Clone mb, 512ram, 7Gb harddrive, Matrox G450 32Mb
2) AMD2500+, A7N8X Del, 512 Corsair Twinx, 30 & 80 GB harddrive, Leadtek 64Mb Ti4200 4x

I managed to sell my Matrox for q quiet good price to my friend who own a P3 sys with a mb that is very picky (tried Gigabyte R9200, Daytona Mx440) on graphic card.

I'm thinking of moving the Ti4200 to P2 system, and buy another card for my Asus mb. Is this a good idea?

(if I am buying)I'm hoping that the card would last me at least 2yrs, at least until end of 2005, 'cause by then, I think i would be upgrading to another sys.

My main use of the graphic card right now are: CAD, Warcraft3, Neverwinternight, Myth of Metho., FF7(replaying).
ANy suggestion?

I would go for the 9800pro 128mb. Its now around $300, and for games like HL2 and Doom3 you'll need something at least this good to get a good game play experience.

Thanks.
However, i read some where that 9700 is incompatible with Final Fant.7? I think from the thread where the guy tried to sell/trade his 9700.
Also, I am not intending to play game like Doom, 'cause my head spin when I tried to play Doom 1 or 2 a long time ago, since then I give up on my playing game like that. But for some strange reason, I don't have the same problem with Tomb Raider.

If you want to play FF7pc with ti4200, you will need RivaTuner to adjust proper AA mode.

If you want to play ff7 with 9700, you will need FF7ps.

If you can hold out just a little longer (Q1/Q2 '04) there is an entire new generation of graphics cards coming out from nvidia and ati. I'd suggest waiting for that since we're so close now. I'd just get a cheapy card to hold the p2-300 over until next gen hits then let it inhereit the 4200.
