I am 16 years old and considering what I want to do as a career. My father and brother both work with computers and have taught me so much over the years. I go to vocational school for computer systems technologies and we learn a little bit of everything. I have been working with computers for 10+ years, building them since I was 13 and I'm CompTIA A+ certified. I'm also learning to program at the moment. I'm confident I have the skills to work in any computer field..

Some that interest me are computer systems engineer, web developer and computer programmer. What are the highest paying computer jobs, and what would you pick?

I have 2 sons working in computer related fields. One works for a top video editing company as the head of IT and the other as a free-lance/consultant computer programmer.

They both do very well for themselves but as the head of IT there is a limit to my one sons salary (however good it may be) where as the other son (free-lance/consultant computer programmer) has no limit. If he develops successful software (he is currently working on some) on his own or with a few partners the sky is the limit and even when he works as a consultant his hourly rate is quite high.

Basically the one (head of IT) has stability, an incredible amount of freedom to work as he wants and a very good salary and the other (free-lance/consultant computer programmer) has less stability, a great hourly rate, total freedom and no limits.
