[SOLVED] What causes a MacBook Pro keyboard to stop working?

Solution
As Manny already mentioned:

1. Cables/keyboard ajar after a physical trauma (major bump, drop).

2. Spilled liquid.


I highly suspect is software, OSX is not as fragile as Windoze but I will not give you a warranty.

There are few possibilities here:

The keyboard/track pad ribbon cable from the top case is not seated correctly into the logic board connector (or damaged).
Something was spilled into the keyboard and it took a bit of time to damage the connections.
The last possibility is the battery has swelled pressing from under the keyboard causing it to fail.

But the problems are "permanent" not temporarily so can you try to explain what have you done to solve the problem? Like updating the laptop or anything like that?

I update it when there's updates available, so I'm on the latest OSX
