What causes this sort of problem on LCD (with pics)

Hi there, can someone tell me what can be the cause of this problem ? I was just on my screen when this suddenly happened and as you can see the monitor does not need to be connected to anything to display those gray/white lines. what can one do to fix this ?

First step in finding what the problem is for many problems is to find a known good state. I know you have probably heard some of this before, but it actually is important to start with the basics.

Swap to cables that you KNOW are good. Try them on another machine. Try the monitors on another machine. Try the computer on different monitors. Once you fond a setup that does function, start changing things and see what step breaks them.
