I am looking at getting into the I.T field as a career, and I expect to start at the bottom, as everyone does.
So I enjoy hardware a lot is it actually worth getting an A+ and MCSE Desktop support certification to begin with?
I want to end up in Security, maybe CISSP? would not mind being a consultant but I would want some actual experience first.

What certifications do you think I should take?

Thanks!

I am currently studying CS at uni yes

Ok great, understanding the theory behind everything will make you much better than someone who just has some certifications. So it sounds like you know what you want to do already, so I would go straight for the CISSP. Just remember these classes are expensive, so while the others may be helpful, in the end just get what you need for the job you want. A lot of times when you get a job if you need anything else, they will pay for you to go (mine did).

Go straight for CISSP without experience, is that wise?

No I would say finish up school, and your school should offer some sort of cyber security class to start. Then you can sign up for a training class for your CISSP. That certification is only the beginning, however you can't just get it now anyway:

So basically finish school (because it counts towards the experience credit you need), try to get yourself in at the ground floor somewhere, and after a year take your CISSP. Your job may even pay for it. Look for internships in security as well for your last years in school, that will get your foot in the door and counts as credit as well.
