Yes, you can use that cpu in another motherboard. I would suggest an 865 chipset, such as the abit is7, if the cpu is a northwood with 512 cache. If it's an older willamette cpu (256 cache), you might want to find a used Intel 845 chipset board to save money, since willamette's don't overclock very well.
