What codec should I have used?

I took a small AVI file into Dynalpel's Steadyhand & processed it. The new
file that was produced is 8 times as large as the original. I expected the
new file to be exactly the same size as the original. What codec should I
have used?

You would get a similar size if you encode it with the same codec
_and_ settings. Not really the same size exactly, as the content has
been changed para Steadyhand.

What codec do you like most? You can use _any_ codec, so what is the
clip meant for?

mpeg1 for compatibility, or
Xvid for small file size

Get Avicodec (it's free), and it shall tell you the properties of your
original.
