What combo should I do? i5-3570k w/ GTX 650ti boost OR FX-6300 w/ Radeon HD 7950?

The title pretty much says it all. I mostly play FPS, but occasionally play games like Skyrim, and Dota 2. If i got the i5 setup I would probably upgrade the graphics card in about a year.

The overclocked 6300 should perform pretty close to the 3470...

I don't trust AMD too much for some reason... Maybe it's just because I like battlefield. lol. But the 3470 can outperform a stock FX-6300.

First of all, if you got the FX-6300 and planned to overclock, you would need to spend an extra $20 on a good overclockable mobo, and an extra $30 on a fan. That brings the gap to about $20. And an FX-8350 set up would be much more then the i5 setup.

If you are planning for some upgrading then you would need to get like 600-650 watts but it's enough for this build with 500W
And do you really need Optical drive?
And please why always people get z77 z75 motherboards on CPUs that can't be OCed get B75 or H67 got damn it Z77 or Z75 helps only when OCed you will save some money there

And still dude you would be much better with going 8350 than 3470
Becouse well it's cheaper
Overclockable
It's faster in single thread just by little bit
And in Multi threading that thing murders i5

Every game but Diablo 3 the i5 wins. And I don't trust a Biostar mobo.

I feel like that build would beat the 8350 build.

You guys were right. I'm admitting defeat. This is my final list. I decided to take out my optical drive as I can download windows through USB, that way I can get a better mobo.

Great build!
And you will be able to overclock your CPU quite a bit only thing you could do is get Instead of Blue drive Black one and also if you are gaming 6300FX will be more than enough But all of that out great build
