[SOLVED] What connectors do i need for a Radeon R9 280

Solution
OKAY. That's a pretty OLD gen video card, and it does NOT require any external power connectors as well. Since it takes power from the motherboard's PCI-E slot itself.

So you current PSU migth have worked for this GPU, but if you want to use the R9 280, then get a compatible PSU.
You need PCI-E cables. What's the make and model of your PSU ?

It's all in the details. There are several hundred (if not thousands of) 500 watt power supplies. We need the exact model number. However, if you state it only has the one PCI-E power connector (6-pin), then it's not enough to handle your new graphics card.

That looks like some budget low-end PSU model. It also lacks PCI-E connectors, as evident from the SCAN UK website, if I'm not mistaken.

Connectors
  • 1 x 4-pin ATX 12V
  • 1 x 4-pin FDD Power
  • 2 x 4-pin Molex
  • 3 x SATA

• 20+4 Pin Main Connectors 1
• 4-Pin 12V Connectors 1
• SATA Connectors 3
• 4-Pin Molex Connectors 2
• Floppy Drive Connectors 1
