I am going to upgrade my PCs MOBO, CPU and RAM and want to overclock. I am new to overclocking so am not sure what cooler I should get.

Specs:
CPU: I7 7700k
GPU: GTX 970
MOBO: gigabyte z270x-ultra gaming
RAM: 2x4 Patriot viper ddr4
HDD: WD Green 1tb
SSD: Samsung 850evo 256gb
PSU: Cooler master 600w
CASE: Cooler Master Midl tower Elite K(night) 350

If so i highly suggest not to buy it unless you already have it. Your case doesnt support 240mm radiator or tall coolers (up to 148mm)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yDg323/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhc14 Will cool well but too expensive. Believe 4.8GHZ can be achieved.
I would buy a new case to fit cheaper and better coolers.

Solution
I have the same CPU and MOBO. EVGA ACX cooler (red LED)...and F6 bios. CPU is spiky (hitting 80-100% usage with anything, for example opening Chrome)...and then going down... and again. I can hear my cooler revs up and down all the time. What's Your setup?

Sorry for offtopic...

the 7700k as mentioned is spiky and temps can run high even with a good cooler. i would go with a big air cooler or a 280mm+ aio, depending on what you can fit. and even with that dont expect a huge oc.
