Question What cpu can carry a mid tier graphics card on modern titles?

I have an i5 7400 and an AMD RX 480 4 GB. What cpu and motherboard should I upgrade to that will allow me to get 120hertz on min to medium settings on modern games like destiny or Modern warfare.

For Destiny 2, you are looking at an i7-7700k as the minimum CPU for 120Hz all-around, which would translate to performance in the neighborhood of an i5-9400 in current-gen CPUs or a Ryzen 3600 if you want to aim above that. Haven't had much luck finding recent results for Warfare at a glance and what I've seen seems to indicate lower CPU requirements.
