What CPU I should upgrade to

I have to give my current cpu I5-4460 to my dad and he will buy me a new one up to 500$

Here are my specs:
MOBO: GIGABYTE H97 HD3
GPU: GTX 970
RAM: 4x4 KINGSTON HYPERX FURY
HDD: WD DIGITAL BLUE 1TB
PSU: 650W COOLER MASTER ATX

You can't overclock, therefore an i5-4690 would be fine for gaming; an i7-4790K is the fastest CPU that you can install.
