i just want to know what cpu if better for gaming. editing, multitasking

ryzen 7 2700 oc to 4.0

The 7700k is better for gaming, but the 2700 is better for multitaskibg and editing. The 7700k is still one of the best cpus for gaming. The 2700 will game well, but its 16 threads really shine in editing and multitasking.

If you get a 2700 you can upgrade to the 3rd gen ryzen which may be better for gaming than the 7700k, and will surely dominate the 7700k in multithreaded workloads.

I tend to prefer ryzen for the upgradable nature without needing a new mobo.

When it comes to gaming no one can beat Intel but in terms of multicore performance ryzen beats intel. So for streaming, gaming and video editing the ryzen 7 2700 will be the best choice

^ You are 90% true. The 2700 massively beats the 7700k in multi-core performance, so for streaming the 2700 is the best. However, It is not the best for gaming 100% of the time. This is coming from a ryzen owner. For example, in newer games that use more than 8 threads, the 2700 will beat the 7700k, but for unoptimized games like pub g, the 7700k is better than the 2700. The 2700 has more of an upgrade path and better overall performance.
