Upgraded GPU and didn't realize how out of date MoBo and CPU are. Need advice on what are future proof options for MoBo and CPU. Budget for CPU is $300 and budget for MoBo is $200. I can stretch about 10% on the budget if it takes me up a tier in long term use. My previous build worked for about 6 years. That's the objective for these upgrades to last another 5 to 6 years.
I upgraded to an RTX 3060 Ventus 2x 12gb.
Current CPU / MoBo / PSU:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 3201 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model H170-Gaming 3
600W Bronze PSU
In a perfect world the MoBo will be about the same size as my current one so I can keep my current case. It would also be compatible with the 64gb DDR4 ram I just installed.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
