What CPU Should I Get for an Asus Crosshair IV Formula?

So I'm a graphic designer student, and my laptop just lags too much running adobe programs, Photoshop and illustrator mainly. I was going to buy a desktop because I prefer to work on those anyways but a friend donated his gaming desktop to me. It's missing a CPU and GPU as far as I know, but I'm completely new to the interior structure of computers. I'm just googling everything as i go, trying to get this thing to run. The motherboard is an Asus Crosshair IV Formula. I know it has an am3 socket, so what would be the best CPU for this? Will it work with an am3+ or ADM? I am planning on doing some gaming (Fallout 4, No Man Sky, stuff like that) as well as running adobe programs. It came with 2 4gb RAM...sticks? Chips? Plugs? I don't know what they're called....

Also, what GPU would be best? I haven't really done any research on that yet since I'm trying to tackle one thing at a time since this is all new to me, but if you know off the top of your head that'd be great.
Thanks for any help in advance! :)

Solution
Sell that board and go with Intel. The AM3+ socket is old as dirt as far as PC components go. The best cpu you could get is the FX8320/8350/8370 and it would perform about like Intel i3 at overall.
