What cpu should I get for Dell Vostro 400 Model 0RN474

I currently have a intel core 2 duo e6550, I want to upgrade my cpu to the maximum, anyone knows what cpu is the best for my motherboard. Any price is ok. I was thinking about Intel Core2 Quad Q9550, is there anything better?

I can confirm a Q9505 does not work either. Powers on at first, runs, shows my old Q6600 still. restart cpu and it does nothing after bios, freeze on windows. works fine with old cpu now. hope you find a good upgrade.

well this sucks because based on foxconns website when you put that motherboard model in the 9550 shows up as supported. no idea what to try now since your 9550 that shows up as working does not, my 9505 does not work. maybe not even worth it for only max 20-30% increase.
