I am looking to get a new cpu as at the moment I have a gtx 970 and an i5 4690k. The gou is awesome and wont need updgrading foa long while but my cpu is limiting some games. I am looking at playing games such as just cause 3 and far cry primal. I can play just cause 3 at ultra settings at the moment fine but it does recommend an i7 and I think that as games progress my i5 just wont be good enough. What cpu should I get. my motherboard has a 1150 socket, I would perfer not to get a new motherboard but if I have to then it isnt that bad. I am looking to spend no more than £300 really. any help is greatly appreciated. I was thinking abiout getting this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-Socket-LGA-1150/dp/B00KPRWAX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455368407&sr=8-1&keywords=BX80646I74790K

How can you tell you're being limited by your CPU? Do you consistently see CPU usage at 100% and GPU usage under that? The i5 should be plenty for gaming, especially with only a 970.

A 4790k will be good enough for many years to come (basically almost the same performance as 6700k).
Yeah I just updated the question saying I was thinking about getting that, do you think it would be best to update my motherboard and get a better i7 or do you think the i7 4790k will be good enough. I need it to last for a couple of years
