So I'm planing to get a new cpu after I've gotten the GTX 1070.
Anyone know any good cpu's to go with it that isnt too expensive?
Specs:
amd fx(tm)-8350 eight-core processor
GTX 960
8gb ram

Solution
Yep, i5 6500 if you don't plan to overclock, i5 6600K if you do, i3 6100 on a budget.

There are no real upgrades you can drop into your AMD motherboard, unfortunately. I'd try out the new GPU with your FX chip and see if you're happy with the performance before replacing motherboard and CPU.

Would the i3 bottleneck the 1070?
There is not too much of an fps difference from the i3 and the i5 6500.
But Im afraid the i3 could bottleneck it.
Im not planning on overclocking by the way.
I wanna go with the i3 6100, because its cheaper.
But I feel like it could limit the 1070.
Would it be worth paying an extra 100 for the i5 6500?

CPUs don't bottleneck GPUs, CPUs bottleneck software. If you want 60fps in a game, and a CPU can only deliver 50fps, it doesn't matter what GPU you have, fast or slow.

An i3 will deliver a good experience in any modern game, but just like any CPU, you'll find scenarios where your maximum framerate is limited by the CPU. I expect the i3 will provide you with a good enough experience, though the i5 would provide you a better one. If the i3 is good enough for your expectations, there's no need to spend more on an i5.

Thank you! I will have to decide what I want to get after I've gotten the 1070.
