What CPU should I go with?

I'm kind of in a tough spot. I ordered 8600k back in December but haven't still received it since the online store I ordered it from is having some serious problems delivering it.
During all this time I have started to think cancelling the order and going with AMD. I would probably save money and could invest it in something else. In the other hand I could wait at least for another month to finally get the 8600k.
I haven't yet gotten the mobo nor ram. My gpu is RX 480 btw

So should I go with AMD (and which model) instead and maybe in the future upgrade to the upcoming third gen Ryzen?

Get a R5 2600 or R7 2700.

Definitely cancel the order a get Ryzen5 2600. Also while selecting RAM get a faster RAM as ryzen tends to performs better with faster RAM

Thanks for the answers all! I have gone ahead and cancelled the order. I have decided to go with the Ryzen 5 2600 and maybe in the future upgrade to the 3rd gen Ryzen. I am just wondering what motherboard should I get so it would be compatible with the 3rd gen Ryzens. My case supports only mATX. What would you guys recommend?
