[SOLVED] What CPU should I upgrade to?

Right off the bat, here are my specs

Vega 56
i5 4670k
16GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 10
1TB HDD
Motherboard: MSI z87 G45

Now my i5 4670k is bottlenecking my Vega and I am thinking of upgrading but cannot figure out what would be best. I also cannot figure out what is the best CPU I can get with my current motherboard.

Because my RAM is DDR3 I am limited. Would it just be a good idea to upgrade the RAM as well?

Really I need someone who knows more about this to let me know if I should just upgrade to the best my motherboard can support or... what.

On your current setup the only upgrades are i7 4770/4770k/4790/4790k but really all you gain is hyperthreading.

To move to a modern cpu with significant increase in performance you are going to need a new cpu/motherboard/RAM combination.

What would be a good cpu pick for a Vega 56?

I’d personally upgrade to a modern platform, say i5 9600k/i7 9700k or Ryzen 2600. These options will need compatible motherboard and DDR4 RAM.
