I'm building a new computer from scratch and I'm not sure which CPU to go with here. Money is a little tight on this build. I plan on gaming, playing things like Far Cry 4, GTA V, Fallout 4 and other games like those. I want good graphics but I'm not sure which CPU to get, all I know is I want an Intel processor.

Build:
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A
GPU: EVGA GTX 960 2GB
Hard Drive: Seagate 1TB Desktop Internal Bare Drive
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
Case: COUGAR MX200 Black ATX Mid Tower

Also, please tell me if any of these parts are incompatible, thanks for any help!

Intel i5-4460 is perfect for 'low cost' good gaming.

Others may suggest a good dual core pentium such as the G3258 as its amazing value for money, but at the moment games such as GTA V and Far Cry 4, either dont work with a dual core CPU, and also they may not run nearly as well. I have insane frame stuttering on my dual core PC for GTA V, but on my i5 build it perfect.

So yes those specs are perfect, a kit of 2x4GB RAM is slightly better as it will make use of dual channel memory, but either way it all looks good, just slap on an i5-4460.

ah its always nice to agree with someone on here 😉

( sorry im pretty bad with computer stuff) but, If I went with something like a intel core i3 4160 wouldn't I see a preformance drop? or would it not be that bad? And thanks for the info on the 2x4GB kit

with the GTX 960 there wouldn't be that much difference, I'm not familiar with Intel CPU's though, can any Intel guys advise?
