What CPU should I use ?

Hi everyone ! I want to make myself an editing/gaming pc , but I have a really low budget. As far as I know , number of cores influences editing software perfomance right ? And the clock speed of the CPU the gaming side. Because of this I am temped to use an AMD FX 8*** processor , as it has 8 cores , and can be overclocked to 4+ Ghz with ease after my little reasearch. I want to use second parts in my build , as I found quite a lot of them around 50-200$. (That is just a reference, our currency is quite different)

I want to know if this is a viable option , as I have no experience in building pc's beside the theoretical parts of it.

I am also planning to use this config for about an year or two at max.

The Fx CPUs may have 8 cores and a somewhat high clock speed, but those 8 cores are very inefficient. Besides it's kinda stupid to buy such and old platform. You wanna look into Intel I5-8600K, I7-8700K or Ryzen 1600 or Ryzen 1700. All of which will perform, compared to FX CPUs, like a formula 1 car against a moped.
