Hey Community.

So some of you probably have seen my 3 other post. I'm right now on my quest to gather informaiton on what to buy for a PC upgrade.

So i basicly want a new processor, cause I've had a lot of both games and software (Like OBS) that says my CPU usage is too high. This has been the case from the first day i got the computer, so it is not any malware or external hardware that is causing the problem.

My final setup, will have a 144Hrz screen, a Zotac GTX 1080 Video Card Graphic Cards, and of course a i7 Processor.
Not only to fix problems, but i also want a I7 to get the highest perfomance both speed and FPS wise.

Been looking at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012M8LXQW/ref=pd_bxgy_147_img_2?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B012M8LXQW&pd_rd_r=GXVW8N9TE9PZDA9XCV9D&pd_rd_w=rAvEb&pd_rd_wg=3nxW1&psc=1&refRID=GXVW8N9TE9PZDA9XCV9D

So what I7 Processor would go good with the setup mentioned above? I got recommended the I7 3770, but I'd rather have one of the new ones (like the I7 6700K). Of course this has just been me researching the Processor opportunities. I still dont no anything about the subject.

So please, feel free to recommend a i7, and also to why i should choose the model, instead of the I7 3770, and I7 6700K :)

Best Regards
Noah

You just know it all Ryguybuddy xD Thanks!

I don't know why someone would recommend the 3770 it's a 3 year old CPU. It's still a very good CPU, but a pointless buy if you don't already have a Z77 motherboard.

With how much stuff your doing, you might want to actually consider an X99 system with a Core i7-6800k. If that's too much, a i7 6700k will do you fine.

Im not sure a i7-6800k would be good for his budget but if he does some intense streaming, like in 1080p 60 FPS max, maybe. Depends on budget.

Hah, thanks man.

Well heres the thing. i Do in fact have the Z77

Ok then. Well how much exactly is your budget?

If your budget is pretty wide, just go for skylake.

Well then it comes down to if you want to spend the money on a new motherboard. I suggest it as Intel will use the socket LGA1151 for the next 2-3 generations. That means you won't have to buy a new board down the road. A new mobo would also bring new features.

But if you want to save money a i7-3770k would be just fine.

Personally it doesnt matter with the streaming. It would be a nice thing to have if it was in budget. But recording will do.

It doesnt make any sence to buy a old CPU. So if a new motherboard is required, i guess i'll just have to put the extra dollars in the budget. Dont see the point to not buy a new motherboard, if its so outdated, that it can't support the new IntelCores

Buying an old CPU and old motherboard together doesn't make sense.

But buying a old CPU to fit an old motherboard is perfectly fine, especially with Ivy Bridge+ CPUs.

But I still say you might want a full Skylake upgrade.

Right now i have about 1200 dollars to spend, but if it goes over, I'll just have to work a bit more 😉

You have $1200 for a CPU upgrade???

Then I suggest a i7-6900k and a Asus X99-A II motherboard. 8 cores, 16 threads, future-proof for years on end. Not to mention the boost to streaming.

Nononono  I have 1200 for the whole upgrade as of right now -screen. The card, CPU and if necessary, the motherboard. If its required to go over budget, i'll just have to work a bit more.

Sure. Give me a min. to make it 😉

Slightly over-budget, but it gets you 6 cores/8 threads and a X99 system, and a GTX 1080 ROG STRIX triple-fan card.
