Question What cpu to get for a Asus TUF b450-plus

Am looking to put a 1700x or 2700x on it BUT would a 3600x work on this aswell?

Am gonna be using a GTX 980 for the time being untill i have some money for a better gpu

Mostly gaming, my old x5680 is giving me alot of performance issues, but i do program a decent bit aswell with unity on it

Currently no budget but 200-300 euros, i already have a new case, psu, aio, mobo, ram, nvme, ssd and for now my gtx 980

I found a 3600x for 200 euros, its 250 euros new, i guess thats a decent deal

I'd go with the 3600 and put the money you save towards a new gpu...the difference between a 3600 and 3600x in games won't be noticable so the money is better spent on a better gpu.

The new price of 3600 is the same price as i can get that 3600x for. but if i cant get it i will consider the 3600, thanks for the input guys

Even if its just for the superior stock cooler included with the 3600x.
